Best Buy Canada's website mistakenly listed an entry for a Version 2.0 of Sony's PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. The leaked information and images were removed by the retailer, but some news outlets have preserved important details. The page advertised a yet-to-be-released "PlayStation 5 V2 DualSense Wireless Controller" that looks identical to Version 1.0 and has the same price of CA$89.99. This is good news for consumers, as there doesn't seem to be a price increase. Internet sleuths have also discovered that a Swiss retailer has listed V2 controllers (in white or camo) on their website since December 2023.

The most significant revelation from this leak is the improved battery life. The Best Buy Canada website mentioned that the V2 controller can last up to 12 hours on a single charge. This is a significant improvement compared to the current PS5 DualSense controller, which typically lasts around six hours before needing to be wired for recharging. The listing also mentioned that a DualSense charging station will be included with Sony's V2 game controller. The sleuths also noticed that the next iteration of the controller weighs 280 g, while the current version (CFI-ZCT1W AKA "V1") weighs 360 g. Several online publications have reached out to Sony PlayStation for a comment on the situation.
